Oem radio question
will a 99-00 oem radio fit my 98 ex? i'm not just referring to the dash fitment, but is it even able to play? i'm not very electronically inclined, but would rather rather that than the kenwood unit that its fugly.
quote from the ad:
"this unit will come with the original card and code"
sure it's been asked and thanks in advance

Re: Oem radio question
The wire harness plugs are different, so you'll have to cut the plugs off and splice and solder the corresponding wires together.
As for physical fitment, the stock 99-00 radio will fit in the upper slot where the stock 98 radio is, but it won't look quite right. I forgot how it'll have to be secured in place.
You can also place it in the DIN slot behind the cupholders. I'm not sure if the mounting holes on the side of the 99-00 radio will match up with the holes on the bracket.

Re: Oem radio question
Ditto the above^^^.
Wiring can be done by getting a harness adapter, [car side] and a rev. harness, [HU side] connecting them together color for color to make it plug and play.
As mentioned the 99-00 HU will fit the upper location but fitment is poor, [looks ugly] and bracing will be a bit of a trick, 99-00 HU is ISO mount your 98 is a rear mount.
Also as mentioned, a better bet is the lower location, where stock cass/CD slave unit would go, also as mentioned the ISO side mounting holes may not line up, nothing a small rat tail file will not fix. 94
