Disable viper 791xv how to?
About a month ago I purchased an EG6 that needs a lot of work. Too trouble shoot some drive ability issues I am having I would like to disable the viper 791xv alarm. I would assume there is a positive wire with fuse right next to the alarm. If it has a fuse can I just take it out and will the car default like there is no alarm or if I pull the fuse out will the car go into some kind of immobilizer mode ( no starter, no fuel pump, no ignition )
From searching Honda-tech on my alarm it goes back 2004!

Yes, removing the fuse in, H1/2 red lead... http://www.directeddealers.com/manua...564V_07-05.pdf will disable the alarm, it will not disable anything else.
You could also just unplug the H1 harness plug from the brain, if you unplug the heavy gauge lead plug from the relay satellite, it will disable the starter. 94

Once I started finding stuff I got a little carried away and now my car will not crank. hahaha. Any ideas on what I need to by pass or more stuff I need to get rid of?
I removed this.
and this.
I removed the this relay but a lot of the wires are still under there. It did not come out clean.
The relay above was T-eed into these wires. That mess is still in my car.

As I mentioned, if you remove the "relay" the starter will not work.
You will need to reconnecr the starter lead, it is the one that is cut with the green and violet leads butt connected to them, it runs the cars starter lead through the "relay" for remote starting, anti-grind and starter kill. 94

Fcm, I think something else is wrong cause the relay box is normaly closed on the starter and should start with the alarm unplugged. Its for saftey. But since you went this far. Unplug all those t taps and dissconnect the green and purple wire. And put the starter wire (black, white stripe) back toghter. And the car should crank over.

Holly cow! Is there anything you don't know.
Can I trouble for one last question please. From the manual that you linked above. This car has turbo timer mode, so the alarm has a way to shutdown the engine/ignition ( not just the fuel pump ). Do you know which wires I need to repair to get it back to factory? If it all possible I want to 100% remove this thing so I will not have to second guess the alarm system for electrical problems.
My car randomly dies like someone turned the key off. The clock and tach just turn off when the car dies. Headlights off course still work because it is on a different circuit.

Re: Disable viper 791xv how to?
Car starts now thanks to you guys. Thanks.
I looked under the dash and saw how the alarm relay connector cut the factory black/with with strip wire in half. It used a green wire on one side and purple wire on the other side. I removed the purple and green wire. Reconnected the black wire with white strip.
I am still concerned with the turbo timer built into the alarm. Which wires did the alarm splice into in order to shut the engine off? I want to put that back to factory.
Thanks again.

And what kyden said, turbo timer is built in. 94

Re: Disable viper 791xv how to?
I guess my question is how does it turn off the car? Does the remote starter/alarm by pass the ignition switch some how?
Since my car starts fine now and you see every thing I have removed does that me I am done?
I removed the t - connectors under the dash. I think most of the wires are ok. The white solid wire under the dash was t connected in two places. I think I am going to have to cut that piece out and splice in a new wire. The t connectors took a big junk of the wire out in both connections.

The green and violet leads go into and through a relay in the "relay box" if the alarm is triggered that relay will open so not current can pass from the ign. switch to the starter motor, [starter kill or starter disable], by itself it is not very good security for your car, very easy to bypass, more so because of where it was connected.
You do not need to cut out that section of white lead, the way we wold "fix" that with out replacing the ign. switch harness, is to strip the insulation off some scrap wire, [about 12" or so] separate out one of the copper strands, straighten out any of the bent/cut strands in the white lead, then tightly wrap the single strand of copper wire you separated out from the scrap piece around the damaged wire strands of the white lead, ideally you will wrap from one end of the uninsulated part to the other, completely covering the damaged sections, then hit that with some solder to hold it all together, wrap tightly with good quality electrical tape, pretty much bullet proof.
Cutting that section out and replacing it will also work, however, you should solder and shrink tube the connections, butt connectors, [like the ones you used on the black/white starter lead are not as dependable as soldering.
With that said, the best fix would be to replace the ign, switch and harness...

Re: Disable viper 791xv how to?
Amazing tech as always.
Just a dumb question to clarify. The ebay link you have is for a 1996 through 2000. I have a 1993 civic. When I looked up an ignition switch on rockauto for 1993 civic it showed the electrical part and the mechanic part as one piece. Of course I would much rather just replace the electrial part that you linked above.

Well now your left with a good system there. I spy a dei 520t back up battery system(missing the brain but see the harness and the battery is not pictueed) dei 513 t mini siren. Get the alarm prepped correclty and put it back in correclty and you will have a nice system.

omg. Save your money and fix the harness you allready have. The 96 and up will need to be re pinned or the car will shut off when you let go of the key.

New harness on top. The new harness does not have the two blue/white wires. The box they ship tells you do not need it. I installed the new harness and every works good. So, I guess you do not need the two wires.
fullsize pict ( you can zoom in ). you can see how cut up/nicked up it was.
