Question about burning an alarm?

so theory i have heard is u can get jumper cables and put both pos adn neg on the body of the car and it will burn all eletrical is that true? if so how is it avoidable?

There is one good way to burn a alarm, I don't care to mention how and it only works on some alarms. But When I install alarms I take steps to prevent it. Most alarms if not all have a fuse on its power wire. So it would not burn the alarm but rather pop the fuse. But it might pop the car battery fuse which in turn could shut the alarm off. Thats why I recommend a back up battery to avoid this. The alarm is on its on circuit. Hope this helps
