can alarm drain battery when not armed?
can alarm drain battery when not armed?
the thing is that is it ok to use relays for the lights and siren? as such
parking lights
Pin 85: 12V Constant
Pin 86: White H1/4 (-) Flash Output
Pin 87: 12V Constant
Pin 30: Parking Light Wire
and extra sirens
- Pole 87 goes to constant 12 volts
- Pole 86 goes to siren wire FROM the alarm
- Pole 86 goes to ground
- Pole 30 goes to the all the sirens positive wire
my battery dying lately not sure if the battery sux, cold weather or if theres too much draw..
ive already bought a new battery but im just concerned that there might be a major problem going on...

Re: can alarm drain battery when not armed?
So I understand, you have an alarm with a backup batt., you have isolated the light flash and extra sirens from back-up batt., [properly from what I can see from your first post] but you can open your hood, with alarm armed, and it does not trigger the alarm????
If so, then obviously you have not installed a hood pin switch, and you should.
Alarm triggers when you disconnect the batt., as it should if armed.
You also say "the sirens goes off" but only the main siren should be going off when back-up batt. triggers the alarm, [if the "extra sirens" are wired off the relay properly] so something is not right there.
The alarm should continue "alarming" when you reconnect the batt. but only for the programed alarming duration and then it will reset to armed mode. 94

should i take out the external siren and connect it with the brown wire? like
external siren -brown-wire to pole 86 of relay
so all the mini sirens are with the relay while the external is with the alarm?
oh damn and sry for the confusion of the other post i meant the sirens stop when i disconnect the battery
