Default dynamatt

will i was doing the back and came to the corner panels. i was wondering do i cover the big holes in the quarter panel or do i just mat the metal pieces? my car is a 99 civic if that helps. im leaning towards to cover the holes but the instruction says its best on a surface but its not going to be.

I would pack the open holes with a thick foam, much lighter. Dynamat will help eliminate vibration on metal surfaces. Filling the open holes would quiet the vehicle even more, but no need to waste the Dynamat for that purpose. Thin jute padding works great behind interior panels, glue it to the panel and reinstall, its fairly light as well.

I agree with KRock459 although covering the hole with Dynamat will help it is an expensive way to go about it, if you want to cover the hole get some Peel & Seal for the holes, it's a lot cheaper and use the Dynamat for the sheet metal surfaces. 94
