Default Jdm P30 ecu problem with vtech

I have the B16a motor swap in my 1997 civic hx I hooked up my vtech and it engaged at 6000 every time then all of a sudden it started engaging at 7000 and the I checked my CEL to see if I was throwing a code and now when I turn it to the on position to check it my CEL Light turns off but when I put the paperclip in the spot to read the codes it stays on.What to do I have reset my ecu 20 times.

If there are no codes and you jump the connector, the light will stay on - that is by design. When there IS a code an you jump the connector, the ECU will blink it out.
