Default intake air temps on a all motor build

I have a ls/vtec running s2p2 cams and 12:1 compression or so. I have extremly high iat's, what could help this?? or what could cause this? I am having iats that are nearly 140 degrees. This seems to be too high considering my buddies car is running at 80 to 90 degree iat's. My compression across the board doesnt vary more than 10 psi from any cylinder...what could it be?

Is your IAT in the same place your buddies' are?

IAT readings from the intake arm (like on a '99-'00 Civic Si) will be much lower than say the location of the IAT on an OBD-1 GSR (on the manifold).

I highly doubt those will affect intake temps that much.

Where do each of the intakes draw air from?

Are you measuring under similar conditions? IAT's fluctuate a lot while driving. It's affected by the time spend idling, time spent driving, throttle angle and duration of a given angle, etc.

You could disconnect the coolant lines from the TB and iacv. Get a cold air intake, and wrap it in the heat reflective tape. That could help a little.

not to sound like a jack *** but why don't you buy a Honda book and look it up instead of relying on someone else to just give you the answers. Besides you can compare and make sure the answer is 100% correct. Because if it isnt who you going to blame if something goes wrong your self or someone that gave you a answer with out you doing your own homework.

when you start the car is the air temp low and go up from there or does it stay high all the time? there might be a problem with your sensor did you try to swap out with 1 of your boys cuz it only takes about 2 sec to do so

I suposed I can switch sensors real quick to see if it makes any kind of difference... I will also route the pcv system away from my intake manifold, I think that may have some to do with it as well..
