A simple ruler could measure the rod journal diamater and the rod journal to main journal distance. The differences in the various sizes are big enough to figure it out with no more than a ruler.

B1-B4 = LS or B20 Crank
R= Type R Crank.
6 = B16
7 = GS-R

I'll edit this as needed, as I remember this through my builder and still have a couple of B20 and Type R cranks still around. I'm going to verify the B16 and GS-R numbers. I went by this plate system and it worked, as I needed to help out Ron and Project "SHE" with a spare B20 Crank I had left

Just picked up a crank where is says B2 on the plate. Is it an LS crank?

Do have an LS rod. The rod cap won't fit on GSR or ITR crank journal

Another bump for the ignorant.
Are you blind? B1-B4 is for the 89mm cranks (LS/B20)....you even put it in a quote. Baffled.

Sorry man didn't mean to make such a dick post. I was in a bad mood last night apparently. I have used the info in this thread in the past and never been lead wrong. Some people disagreed but I still haven't had it fail me.

found this thread trying to identify which crank was which.. i knew i had 2 LS cranks and 1 GSR crank.. so i started looking at the differences between them.. i've put arrows and such to point out some of the obvious casting differences between the LS and GSR cranks. I also measured the #1 Rod journal and included pics of the measurement.. figured i'd share my findings. the surest way is to use V blocks and dial indicator to measure the actual stroke, but not many people have those tools or access to them.

I could be wrong but I think that's from a Gallo 12 engine. It might be the Gallo 24, though.

@JRCIVIC: He's trying to be humorous using an F&F2 reference.

Haha... Thanks Shodan, I guess I am batting 500 then. I got the "Speed" reference, and failed on the "Fast and Furious2" reference... does this mean I lose my Hot Rod Honda card ???

According to the information provided earlier the B4 will identify it a LS crank. But someone says its a GSR so I'm a little confused.
