Im thinkink about putting a d15b7 mini me swap into my hatch just for a little more pep i guess, and the fact the stock d15b8 is about to go.

My question is: will i need another transmission for the d15b7, i no the b8 tranny will prob bolt right up, but will it work good in the long run for the b7/y8 mini me swap. This is prob a dumb question but ive looked around and havent found anything really to answer my question thats why im here lol. ive seen ppl say they used a ex/si tranny but if i dont need have one then why waste the money?? this car is just a dd and is'nt beat on so just something that will have a lil more pep and be reliable is all im looking to gain from this, Thanks alot any post will be greatly appreciated!!

Gearing is extremely tall on the CX/VX. You most likely won't see VTEC past 2nd gear.

if it is just your dd and not a racer and just doing the swap cause you other motor is shot than just keep your b8 trans it will work just fine

If you would read my original post you would see that this is just a "dd" not a badass build project, and going from a 70hp d15 to a 120hp d15 is a big diff, and would be the extra "pep" i was looking for, and also once again like i said in the original post i looked all over the this web site for free advice and didnt find anything referring to the question asked, which is why i made this tread so next time try reading the OP before posting your unhelpful comments.
