Default tranny swap... I need some help.

Im swaping a z6 tranny out for a y8 tranny... Well one of the little alignment things are still on the motor and also one is on the new tranny, so my question is how do I remove those things? I tried pliers but neither of them will come out. help please! THANKS!

try applying a little bit of heat to the case around the alignment dowel, using map gas or even a propane torch, keep working at it with the pliers and it should come out, if anyone has a simpler solution then you can try that as an alternative as well.

insert a 3/8" short extension, then lock down with vise grips, twist to break loose the dowl, then twist and pull......
