D16Z6 MAP AND TPS Connectors
Ok the question I have is are the connectors the same? I know they hook up the same with 3 pins 3 wires, but I just bought an EG and inherited a horribly done D16 swap and I'm throwing a MAP CEL. When I looked someone has a TPS connector on the MAP sensor meaning both the TPS and the MAP sensor both have the same 3 color wires coming out and the MAP splices in (hardwired) to the MAP side of the harness.
Basically both plugs have a TPS plug on them will this cause me to throw a MAP CEL or are they interchangable as long as the wires are mated ie. power, ground, signal.

as long as the wires are going to the correct sensor and correct pins to the ecu, you will be fine.
They are identical connectors so its just based on the wiring.

cool and thanks a ton! just what I wanted to know so that means I have a fault some where else I think I may just straight wire the damn thing to the ECU.

if you are sure that each connector is at the appropriate sensor (which is should be if you are getting a cel - having them flip flopped does not show a cel), make sure the pins in the connector are secure. If they are loose and have a bad connection it will throw a check light.

Re: D16Z6 MAP AND TPS Connectors (98vtec)
yeah they are deffinately on the right connector. The only thing I'm not sure of is the order of the pins on the MAP.
TPS plug has
Green/White
Red/Blue
Yellow/White
The MAP wires from the harness are
Green/White
Yellow/Red
White
They are hooked up
Green/White-Green/White
Red/Blue-White
Yellow/White-Yellow/Red
I've done some research and I know Green/White is ground, White is signal, and Yellow/Red is power but combining the two I'm not sure about.
