That is a coating that prevents corrosion while in storage and also provides some lubrication when the engine is being assembled, degreed, and first started. It is meant to wear away.

Is there a specific reason for having dog engagement gears for first?
Since you start off in first gear, I would think it would be more beneficial to have dog gears for 2nd and 3rd gear, and not really needed for 1st gear, no?
Engine is gonna be a monster.

What ratios did you go with on the 1-2 set? Are you still going to use tsx 3-4?

The shell isn't much to look at. Still need to finish cutting the interior, put a cage in it, figure out the wiring, etc. It's been sitting in the corner of the shop collecting dust. Been too damn hot to work on it in the shop and with my 12+ hour workdays I'm already burnt out by the time I get home. Lol.
