TRANSMISSION
HEY EVERYONE, JUST A LITTLE TIP ON ACURA TL TRANSMISSION I HAVE A 99 TL WITH 100.000 MILES AND THE TRANI WENT ON ME TWICE AND THE DEALER REPLACED IT FOR ME NO COST, BUT WHAT AM SAYING IS DON'T BEAT UP ON THE TRANI IF YOU HAVE A 99-01 TL THE TRANI IS VERY WEAK

Re: (CUTTERSPOOL)
you need the trans from another acura CL/TL or CL/TL type S. I would not use a regular TL/CL trans in a type S car as 2nd gear clutch pack is not strong enough.....

Also the Type S transmission will not go into teh non type S without modifications. The dealer tried installing one on my TL...they said the speed sensor is different.

Beat the tranny or not, those things were badly designed... so they'll go out on you regardless ('03 recalls: dealer add a tranny cooler to lengthen the life of the AT). Just keep up with your fluid, and you'll be good for a lil' while.
