Honda civic 2001 1.6 5dr Gear shifting issues.
Recently my car has been very difficult to get into first and 3rd gear, hard to shift and such, not too bad once things were warmed up and if i was regularly shifting between gears, doing town driving etc.
On motorway trips i found i could get it upto 5th fine, but after about 5-10 miles driving in 5th, i found it easy to shift to 4th, but then hard to go back down to 3rd, 2nd and 1st (this was on saturday just gone).
Monday night i went to pick up my gf from the train station, it was very cold and i kinda knew i'd have trouble..but not this much. I could not shift it into 1st at all, it just wouldn't go, the clutch would push in but felt like it stuck for a split second after i lifted my foot off before coming out, to get into first i had to turn the engine off, shift into first then turn it back on.
On the way i noticed the clutch was being odd, i had to double clutch a few times to get it into 3rd gear, upon picking up my gf i put the car into reverse and as soon as i started to pull away the car stalled, then as i turned in at the top of my road i could barely get it into first, then as i pulled up outside my house i could not get it out of first at all, with the clutch all the way in, part out, nothing seemed to work. Even with the clutch all the way in it felt like the car was on the verge of stalling, i turned the engine off and took it out of first.
So, i'm assuming its the clutch but i thought i would come and ask the friendly people here, i've been a lurker for a while but finally signed up
I thank you all in advance for any advice you may give, i'm in the UK btw

Please can an admin move this back to where it was?? My car is neither an EP3 nor an Acura RSX, its a 5 door 2001 honda civic! so i have NO idea why it was moved here!!

Look at your car, though. It resembles nothing of a 2001-2005 Civic coupe or sedan. It's essentially an EP3 without a K20 in it and with four doors, so your thread was moved here.
Sorry, bud!

He's got a point^^
I'd guess the cause of the problem is either the slave or the master cylinder. Both are a cheap-ish fix, and are way easier than pulling the clutch out.
