DC5 Clutch Bypass
Question....On my friend's RSX-S, how can I rig up the clutch switch to think it's always pressed? Reason I ask is because his remote starter stopped working, but if the clutch pedal is pressed and you engage the remote starter, it starts right up. Winter season is coming upon us fast and he would like his remote starter to be functional.
ThanX.

most cars have an interlock switch. most i have seen are at the top of the pedal arm, near the pivot. a wire jumper will bypass that switch so it thinks the clutch is depressed.
i can't reiterate how dangerous it will be the first time he triggers the remote starter with the car in gear.
the car will have to be left in neutral, obviously.

Thanks for your help. I will check it out. And he knows not to start the car in gear. Always locks the keypad on the remote when it's not in use. I made sure he got into that habit.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Re: (B18C5er)
the RSX has TWO connections on the clutch pedal. one has to be unplugged. the other i think has to be jumped like someone mentioned already. i'm not sure what i did.... also you can hook up the neutral safety switch to the ebrake. that way if he does start it on accident the ebrake will be up! good luck. if you have any questions let me know. later-dan
