Is there an advantage in getting you wheels lug center instead of hub center?

im not sure what the question is..but ill take a stab at it....

you always want the wheel to be centered by the hub, the lugs are just to fasten the wheel to the hub....if you have a aftermarket wheel that does not center it self on the hub...you can purchase rings that are hubcentric for your paticular application...

other wise..your car will drive like chit!!

i believe certain cars use hub centric mounting and others use lug centric....our hondas are hub centric so i dont know if getting the wheels in lug centric mounting would work.

Diamond Wheels are lug centric and use special (to honda) lugnuts.

OEM wheels will be hubcentric. However our Hondas use acorn shaped lug nuts, or with aftermarket wheels, angled lug nuts. What is done wit aftermarket wheels is to do what is called the jiggle test. When you put tyhe wheel on, you hand tighten the lug nuts, and then try to wiggle the wheel while hand tightening a lug but. This ensures that the lug but is centered on the wheel's lug seats. There exist cars that use flat lug nuts, such as the 2001 ford f150. It for example would not be able to center aftermarket wheels with OEM lug nuts, if the wheels had a larger center.

In short, you can center a wheel with just the lug nuts. Its done with aftermarket wheels. Most shops will tighten the lugs while a second technician pushes on the brake pedal to ensure they are centered, and then may spin the wheel by hand to ensure there is no runout.
