Would you pay more for a CLEAN TITLE CAR? does a REBUILT or SALVAGE title bother you?
IM SORRY BUT..... when i look at a car the first thing i do is look if the title is clean, having a rebuilt or salvage title BOTHER ME, people who have it says "O ITS NO BIG DEAL" but i think its a very big deal, so when theres hondas and integras that want 10g for a REBUILT OR SALVAGE TITLE it doesnt seem right, WOULD U RATHER BUT A CLEAN TITLE CAR FOR THAT MUCH?

I would be willing to pay a lot more for a clean title car, even though it maybe shouldn't have one....

ive had worse, but its still a pain in the ***, especially when your a perfectionist on how the car looks, we got most of the body lines perfect, however some areas bother me more then others, most people wouldnt notice at all, but it stands out like a sore thumb to me.

salvage title = different insurance requirements and payouts (if anything does happen)
If you intend to have full coverage, NEVER buy a salvage title. If you only carry PLPD, go for it and enjoy the discounted purchase price, but know that you will get very little from insurance in an accident.

i could really car less if the title to a car is clean or slavage. we do stuff to our cars that dealer would dem the car as salvage. i used to work for private car lot fould out the trick of the trade. there ways to turn a slavage title in to a clean title. so as long as the car is legal and can past a state inspection ill buy anything

The biggest difference is you cant get full coverage insurance on a salvage title, so if it gets stolen they wont pay for the car. I bought a integra from auction and instead of spending money on a fancy alarm and what not, I got lojack.

You DOL can tell if your car is clean or rebuilt/salvage, you cannot just use your "tricks of the trade" haha. Have you ever heard of carfax as well? I work for MB believe me what you were doing at your so called private lot is illegal.
Anyone who says, "you drive the car not the title" is most likely trying to sell a car they own for a higher price by making it seem ok. There is a reason insurance companies will not provide full coverage!

wtf? ^ lol. don't bother me at all. not all accidents are reported. the only way you know for sure that your getting a 100% mint car is if you buy it brand new from the dealer off the truck yourself anyway.

yeah carfax only shows things reported to the dmv or insurance company, ie accidents, inspections, etc.. I have gone and looked at cars with clean carfaxs and you get there pop the hood and you see the front radiator support has been replace a little overspray here and there. You have got to know what one looks before its been wrecked to really tell. The are little things all around the front end that are good indicators if the front has been wrecked and all the way around the car if you know how to look

Re: Would you pay more for a CLEAN TITLE CAR? does a REBUILT or SALVAGE title bother
I wouldn't mind a salvage title provided that I had proof of why it was salvaged and that I could see that it was repaired well (and it was reflected in the price). Unfortunately, my car insurance company refuses to even insure a salvage title car. And all insurance companies will screw you on a salvage title car if you ever have a claim.
I would never pay more than $3000 for a salvage title car I don't care if it's a freaking NSX. I see "rebuilt" title cars for $7000 and I just laugh.
Certain modifications I consider to be equivalent to a total loss. Pretty much any car that has aftermarket engine internals or a rebuild, short shifter, "Stage" anything especially clutch, skunk2 parts, any kind of body kit, or if the owner is an idiot, I wont touch it with a ten foot pole. And on average I buy a Honda / Acura every other year.

Re: Would you pay more for a CLEAN TITLE CAR? does a REBUILT or SALVAGE title bother
I would never buy a salvaged car due to an accident because I feel the car will never drive or handle the way the car was designed and intended. I would buy a car salvaged for theft however since stock motors never really stay in the bay for very long.
I Bought my salvage title 98 integra LS due to theft. Best car Ive bought my whole life. I rape the **** out of it daily with countless long distance trips out to the mountains for spirited driving. I started getting bored and put a turbo on it and boosted (10psi 60trimT3) with stock internals. Still currently in my garage now collecting dust. Did I get lucky? Probably.
As stated above I would really reccomend taking a very good look at the car. As long as you know what to look for you will be fine. I reccomend also if possible to look behind the plastic gaurds in the trunk to see if any rewelding or frame straightening as occured from rear end damage.
