Compression tester is around or under 20.00 at local parts house.
Warm engine to operating temp.
Remove spark plugs (which is normally done on a cold engine but for accurate results engine needs to be warm on this one. Be carefull not to f up your threads)
Stick in compression tester on #1 cylinder
Crank for about 7 seconds, let off. I repeat about 2 or 3 times.
Write down reading on guage.
Repeat for other 3 cylinders and record numbers for all. If numbers are off by 10% of each other something is wrong.
Depending on motor/compression ratio is to what numbers should be.
B16 motors are around 185 to 200 I believe and that is around 10.4:1 ratio ish.
If numbers are low you can add a cap full of oil into spark plug hole and try testing again to see if numbers go up.
If yes most likely rings.
If no most likely valve seals (easier fix)
If I missed something please add to this.

if they don't they should be open for business. but yea only takes about .5 so it shouldn't be to much for a shop to do it if u can't.
