Default SKunk2 exhaust set up issue

ok my situation is that i installed my Skunk2 Megapower R(70mm) piping with my test pipe and my hytech replica headers and i have been driving it for a few days and good god its is soooooooo loud!!! im talking about i turn my system up in the car and its still loud.

So i was thinking if i can use my itr axleback and get a 70mm flange and weld it and bolt it on to the skunk2 piping?

will it become alot quieter or wat are the pros and cons of this situation any advice would be great thanks

If it was me I'd just put the silencer in. but most likely you can just bolt the axleback on from your ITR to the Skunk2. Not really any pros to doing that but it will get quieter. And cons, I think will be the restricted air flow you just now put on the exhaust. Or even better yet invest in a Magnaflow Carsound High Flow Cat, you'll probably be more satisfied than replacing the axleback.

yea same here my cars loud becuz the test pipe and that my cars is fully built as well too so it just adds to loudness but the itr axleback wont bolt up cuz its not the right size flange.

so wegotmorrison wat did u end up doing with ur exhasut to get it quieter or did u just leave it?

i have a skunk2 60mm exhaust on my gsr and it's pretty loud. deleted the cat so it's just the skunk2 resonator and muffler. it gets very annoying with how loud the drone is driving around. for ***** and giggles the other day i bolted on my stock muffler and oh my it was sooooo quiet. sounded totally stock again. but it killed the torque so i put the farter back on.

I just left it. It gave me decent power, and It sounds really good at high RPM's. Its not a ricey sound at all with just the Skunk2 cat back. Like I said, pretty loud, but still sounds good.

yea i ended up getting used to the sound even tho its pretty loud but i put the silencer on there and it reduces the sound by quite alot but it makes me lose crazy power but i guess i can put the silencer on when i go on dates and it will be fine.

another question is does any one have an issue with how low the exhasut or the resonnators sits after installing? cuz its seriosuly sits like 2in or less on the ground. the sresoncator like scrapes everywhere i go especially on driveways.

This 70mm exhaust wouldnt bolt up to the stock cat, its way too big for an 97 ls..

Im wondering if a different year or gsr cat would bolt up to it?

If not, it sounds like i need a highflow or a testpipe..

What should i do?

your going to have to get an aftermarket high flow cat in order to get the sound that you are looking for. The test pipe is what is causing the issues. Bolting up an axle back exhaust is going to hurt your performance one way or another.
