Default Replacing Stock Antenna *56k Warning*

I'm sure this has been covered, but I thought I'd post my pics anyway.
I replaced my broken antenna with a 12v powered antenna that I hid in the headliner.

I didn't completely remove the driver's side rear interior panel, I just pulled it back enough to get to the 10mm bolt holding the antenna on.

First, I removed the old antenna, you can use skinny needle nose pliers if you don't have a tool.

Next, after you take the antenna out, fill it with a 25mm rubber grommet from your local Honda dealer, part 82871-671-000. It's about 2.50.

The antenna usually sticks to the windows and is amplified, I put mine in my headliner instead. Here's what it looks like:

There's lots of room in the headliner, you probably can't see it very well, but it's tucked about 10 inches from the edge of the liner.

Run the cables from the antenna down the rear driver's side C-pillar like so:

Next, the antenna will plug right into the factory cable:

Lastly, plug the 12v wire into the center pin of the factory antenna plug.

Put it all back together and you're done!

How's the reception with these? Does turning on the moonroof actuator interfere with the signal?

Pretty good idea. Let us know how it works. I'm thinking about doing this, my antenna is stuck halfway up and the reception sucks.

Meh, been using it for a few days and reception isn't that great. At least not in the burbs. I moved the antenna to the rear window at the top, you really can't see it, but at least it has good reception. So anyway, you can still run the wire down the C-pillar and use the wires as shown.
