Integra Carbon Fiber Hood Question. Help!!
Hey guys.. my cf hood on my ITR has faded and it isn't glossy at all anymore. I don't know what caused this, but I tried polishing it back to a better finish; no luck. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about carbon fiber. Is there any way a body shop could possibly restore it, or is restoration out of the question? I hope not (considering the price of a new hood- ugh). Thanks for any advice! The paint on my car is immaculate, and the faded hood ruins it.

I wet sanded mine with a 2000 grit wet/dry sandpaper then buffed it out with a 3M buffing compound. It got rid of the faded look for a few months but eventually came back just like before. For a permanent fix you will probably need it recleared. I have seen a few people advertising carbon fiber parts re-clearing in the marketplace.

You could always paint the hood to match your car; this should eliminate all problems with it fading, or at least fading faster than the rest of the paint.
