Intake Manifold Noise
I have a 98 Ls and just recently my engine makes a humming noise coming from inside the intake manifold. It is not the whistling noise this is a loud humming noise when the engine is at idle. I have replaced the manifold and TB gaskets, but it still makes the stupid noise. What could it possibly be?

did you suck a leaf in there or something?
if nothing is in there it's probably a vacuum leak or loose bolt/nut.
Bear in mind the injectors make a little noise...but not a hum...more so a click.

i have the same noise on my ls/vtec, i thought i was my headlamps making it until i starter hearing it idle in the day time

did you replace it with a skunk2? if so, an important thing to remember is to make sure that the old gasket is COMPLETELY SCRAPPED off of the block. what happens is, most people peel it off and then they dont realize that the small parts of the gasket sticking on, will cause a leak. thus the noise. youre supposed to get all that **** off and make it CLEAN before you attach the new IM... or is this your stock one? do you have an intake?

Nah mine is the stock manifold and I made sure all of the old gasket was removed, I made the both look like new. stock filter also.

Take brake cleaner and spray around the intake manifold, in light bursts. If you have a crack or leak, your rpm will jump. Use that to isolate the area. Could also be a loose IAT sensor.
