Default Constant squealing noise

I left for school this morning and half way to school I started hearing a noise, I was sure it was from me so I turned off the radio and started driving. Right when i started moving the car I would hear this rattle like a loose piece of metal and then there would be constant squealing as I moved. This wasn't when i brake though, it's when my car's moving.

I got out of the car to check, and i smelled this tar kinda smell, i'm pretty sure it's not my clutch. But I inspected each rotor one at a time, and my rear driver side one seems to have a **** load of grooves compared to my rear passenge side.

Bad part was I had to drive back home with it. So after awhile the noise just stopped, so i'm not sure what the reason is.

After I come back from class i'm going to inspect each rotor and pad and see what's up.

Does anyone have any idea what could be making this noise?

Where was the noise coming from? Front or rear of the car? If it's from the front, check your dust plate to see if it's touching the rotor. If the noise is from the rear, it could be your parking brake sticking.

Yeah dust plate, that's what was rattling. I'm not a 100% sure where the noise is coming from, I dropped the ebrake several times and it still made the noise.

it could be the wear indicators on the pads themselves
