I got a code 86 ECT Sensor (Engine Coolant Temperature) circuit range / performance problem. Has anyone got this? What should I do?

check to see if the wiring is bad going to the sensor, if thats fine take the sensor out and check for resistance in the sensor. i dont remember exactly how many ohms it should read. but if it reads nothing or says OU.CH or 0.00 the sensor is bad n needs to be replaced
