Default ball joint problem......

i cantseem to get the castle nut loose from the ball joint. when i go to spin the nut off, the stud and nut just spins. any idea how to get this ball joint off??

If an impact doesnt work then grab some channel locks and put pressure on the two parts the ball joint is joining together. Should put enough friction on the joint to keep it from spinning. Try not to damage the boot

RoB316, I'm having the exact same problem. Let me know it the impact works. ForceFed, are you saying to grip it vertically with the ball joint?

just put load on the control arm. put a jack under the LCA and jack it up so the suspension has weight on it. it'll stop the ball joint from spinning.

yadddamean, tried jacking up the LCA and the ball joint still moves. I guess its time for me to pickup a compressor and some impact tools.

Yeah i meant to try and put a load on the joint, hoping that it would keep from spinning. Your best bet is impact sorry.
