Default Would you use this Turbo? crack in housing - pic

here's a few pics of a t3 Turbo in mint cond. except for this crack in the exhaust housing.

it goes all the way through, as you can barely see sunlight through the crack. I've read that this happens after a while and as long as the cracks are not near the internal wastegate they are okay to use and you wont lose pressure. But I'm wondering if there's a chance this thing can split from the inside out like a bagel and contact the turbine?

I've read & been told "Yeah use it" and "I wouldn't use it"
I'm looking for a sure answer

i would think it would be fine as long as you get it welded back together

Cast iron can be welded and be very reliable. But seriously, just get another exhaust housing.

cast iron can be welded, it just has to be heated first.....for the price that someone is gonna charge you to do it RIGHT though, you might as well just buy another housing.....if you can see light through it, then its a big crack, it will proly be loud as hell, and put black **** on everything

I would prob feel comfortable doing that for someone if it wasnt gonna get hot and cold all the time. If it was just gonna stay room temp then I wouldnt hesitate. I realize there is a certain heating/cooling process to weld cast, but it never seems right to me

The only way I would possibly bother repairing this housing is if it is off some very obscure turbo. I am assuming it isn't, so I'd just buy a new housing. Like stated earlier, I could certainly repair it for you, but it is time consuming and the filler rod is expensive.
