Default White smoke from crank case breather can

I have a turbo ls and I have two -10AN lines running from my crankcase to a breather catch can, and the oem crankcase nipple is being vented to atmosphere through a small breather filter. The other important part about my setup is that I have the pcv valve deleted and the black box hole on the back of the block has a freeze plug in it. So my question is.... Should there be a fair amount of white smoke coming from out of my breathers? The color of the smoke is a light white ish color. I know people say it means its the piston rings or the head gasket but I'm pretty sure I'm not leaking any coolant and I'm for sure not overheating. I don't think its rings because when I listen to the engine it sounds normal and it seems to drive pretty well also. What do you guys think is it normal for smoke to be coming from the crankcase when the pcv system has been deleted?

its going to sweat a little bit- how much smoke are we talking here? How much oil is in the catch can after a pass? It doesnt overflow does it?

Its basically a steady mist of vapor coming from the breather. To describe the amount of smoke I would say it's not like it looks like a fire but I mean it is noticeable when you have the hood open. If the hood is down you can see a some coming out from under the hood on the passenger side because that's where my breather can is mounted. I just checked the catch can and there wasn't too much oil/blow-by in there. There was some, but not even close to being full or even half way. When I look closely at the breather on the catch can when its idling it looks as though some oil is sitting in the bottom of the breather but it's not really spilling out. Maybe a little drip down the side but that's about it. Also I don't know if it makes any difference but it is extremely humid outside right now so I don't know if that could somehow affect it.

Mine smokes out a good bit but usually it's on the dyno when the car is under a good bit of load! It's just blowby past the rings. If this didn't happen there would be no reason to vent the case. It shouldn't constantly do it at idle or anything though.

It smokes at idle though. It doesn't smoke a whole lot right away (does smoke some), but after some driving and warming up it will produce a bit more than when it started, but it always smokes at idle, and I assume also when it is being driven.

Could having either too much or too little oil possibly make it smoke?

The smoke from the crankcase breather and the oil consumption sound a lot like excessive blow-by, which results from worn rings or tapered cylinders.

Does it have an odor?

If you remove the oil filler cap right after shut down, do you see a copious amount of smoke.

Have you checked compression/leak down?

i was always told that if the smoke disappears fairly fast then no biggie. but if the smoke is think and lingering then you should be concerned.

my car is the same way

my engine got built about 2k miles ago... it huffs a bit all the time out the crankcase filter... i would start worrying when it smokes out the exhaust all the time

Good Morning,
I have a honda interga B16a. I recently changed my PCV valves and replace seals but I still have a fint smoke that comes from the breather box are some where under the manifold only when the car is driven to warm and a hiss sound then follows. There no over heating just a change in how the car runs on low revs it gets sluggish.what could be causing this?
