Default Ways to quiet exhaust???

Ok guys looking for someone who has had some success with making their 3" exhaust a little quieter. I have a integra with a full Peakboost kit T3/T4 57 trim and the exhaust is 3" skunk2 with vibrant muffler. I originally changed out the skunk can for a vibrant and it was quieter for a while but it has slowly gotten stupid loud and drives me nuts. I know its obviously going to be louder but this is just stupid. Ive thought about a high flow cat but have been told by my tuner that i would be looking a good 40 HP loss doing so but should tone it down quite a bit. I dont really want to do that but since this is my daily i will if theres not another option out there. Also on top of that is there anyone out there boosted with 3" and using a cat?? How loud is it and restrictive?? How loud are other peoples cars with 3" and no cat?

Anyone with any experience with this please post. I have checked the exhaust for leaks and what not but its all good. As i said a little loud no problem but this is bad enough that i have considered putting it back to NA because its just obnoxious. Thanks guys....

My previous turbo car was a '93 alltrac, I used the HKS hi-power exhaust on it with no cat. It was very quiet and sounded amazing. They make honda systems as well I'd look into that or my personal favorite for hondas -> thermal research and development. They make top notch systems for N/A and turbo.

If you just installed a cat on your system, yes you'll lose some HP but it'll probably be mostly peak power, not as much in mid range where you do most of your driving.

My current setup is a 9:1 N/A GSR motor with a 3" exhaust magnaflow performance muffler no cat. I installed a baffle in it to give me back pressure and quiet it down while I finish getting parts together for my turbo kit(after turbo the baffle will be removed making it a true 3" all the way). It's pretty quiet unless it's at 8k rpms... I daily drive it and can talk to someone in the passenger seat without having to shout over the exhaust.

Have you considered using an additional resonator to your exhaust system? Located between the midpipe & the exhaust

i run 3in Egay exhaust with gutted cat, n1 style mufler with baffle (its removable) with it in it runs a little richer but not much. the only time the car is loud is under full boost as the dump pipe is open. You could run a closed dump pipe routed back into the exhaust and it will quiet it down but will have to re-tune for that....

straight through resonator will quiet it down. I had 1 and a magnaflow muffler it was very quiet. The farther to the back you have it will make it more effective in bringing down the db

2 resonators and a vibrant muffler here.

If I could go back in time I would have just kept my N/A 60mm exhaust and put a 3" DP with cutout in.

We are talking about quiet exhausts in all motor right now. There some good info and a link that compares a bunch of mufflers by quietest to loudest.
