They each have their technical merit. Whether it is a pull-type design or a push-type design using the Synchronic actuator, they will actuate very fast. I personally like the features of a pull-type, guaranteed not to leak under boost, etc. But some apps, like diesel will need a push-type.

Re: (Attaus)
I need to put together a video where neither of them are on the pipe and their covers are off, to demonstrate the difference in the amount of valve lift and response.

we stopped by the sema booth and talked to Synapse.
great guy, easy to talk to.
he really knows his stuff, and it is great to see someone that still gets excited tlaking about innovation.
after talking to Synapse (sorry i didnt get your name) ill be switching over to the BOV and the wastegate as soon as they are available.
quick comment as i read through this thread:
if the $30 ebay BOV is good enough for you, great. others would rather spend the money to make sure thier ~$1200+ turbo isnt damaged. these are the people i think this product is for, not the "good enough" people.
way to improve on a product that is important, but only gets recongized by the "cool sound they make"
i hope you and the company do well.

Re: (Tchleung)
I know that the vid is way long. But hang with it and you'll see that the Synchronic BOV isn't just a noise maker. It will actually improve throttle response.

if i dont have to do any welding, and the price isn't off the roof, then you just sold me. as long as u provide a fitting that would bolt on to a blitz flange.

this is a bov not a wastegate dude.
I would still take a tial over this wg anyday.

Don't call other people bad names out of anger. It only shows ignorance.

So this just improves throttle response correct? What would you think of it as, a waste of pressure or something moving the diaphram in the other one?

I have been saying this since '95. The multiple air passageways on crackhead created SQV/SSQV setup is what makes the bling bling HKS BOV's so slow to react. Couple that hiccup with a mount setup that is notorious for leaking and all you have is a shiny turd that stinks pretty damn good!!
It doesn't matter where the HKS SQV/SSQV type BOV's are mounted!! They will react slow no matter what!!
Here is the only HKS BOV worth buying!!. Looks similar to the Greddy Type R and uses the same flange. This one was on the market years before GReddy released the Type R.
</TD></TR></TABLE>
I have this one on my car...its quite nice, not obnoxiously loud but makes a nice woosh sound at low boost and a high pitched chirp at higher boosts.
