unplugging map sensor
ive got a 97ex and my check engine light is on checked code, map sensor. i have a greddy turbo kit as well :D could i just unplug the wire to the map sensor would this benifit or improve performance? seggestions or ideas?

take the above post as a "NO." when something else stops working properly, do you normally unplug it and expect it to function? i hope not. if you are running the blue box, check ur wiring. let us know what ur setup is, if you expect help.

I'm not familiar with the greddy kit but doesn't it use some kind of electronic MAP limiting to keep from throwing a CEL under boost? Or does it use the ol' fishtank check valve solution (or missing link). In any case, you are probably boosting too much and your MAP sensor is showing the ECU more than about 3.0 volts which is roughly the threshold for turning on the CEL. Without knowing more details I'd say turn down the boost or try a missing link or check valves. Unplugging the MAP sensor will not result in a satisfactory solution.

setup greddy kit sohc, apexi vafc, apexi avc-r, vortech fmu, apexi turbo timer, greddy ttype-s bov, greddy type 31 intercooler. i dont have the black box i figured since i want to be boosting above 5-6psi i wouldnt need it. im thinking i need a missing link???
