Just installed:

Buddy Club 80*C fan switch
Gates Racing 170*F thermostat

Drained some of the coolant/water, and added a bottle of Redline Water Wetter (top the rest off with water). The car now idles around 183-194*F in between fan cycles. With the stock thermostat and fan switch, the temperature was hovering 198-202*F at idle.

Haven't done any further testing, but as of now, I'd say what I've done works well. Next up is to replace the eBay slim fan with a stronger one.

Installed a new radiator cap a couple days ago. My car takes longer to warmup at idle now. I let the car idle for almost an hour and it took about 30 minutes for the fans to kick on. It stayed at 190-192 for a long time.

Once fan kicked on at 200 it would run shorter time than normal and the temps would drop back down to 192 and stay there for a few minutes then start going backup. Before it would only drop to 196 and heat back up very quickly.

Took for a quick ride just around town and temps held 192 and only went up in traffic at idle then kick right back down. Will be taking for a drive this week to see but I believe it will stay 188-190 driving. Happy I didn't go spending a ton of money revamping my cooling system when all it took was a 25 dollar radiator cap

i've been telling you people about water wetter lol. you'll see better drops with straight water wetter and distilled water... and dont forget to flush and drain when it gets cold as even when mixed with glycol that water wetter will freeze

and i hope you topped off your system with distilled water and not a hose... causes so much corrosion and component damage if you use non-purified water

It works in georgia almost year round, since our winters have been fairly warm (above freezing for the most part, a few teen degree days though lol)

We keep it in our race bikes year round because they are stored in a climate controlled environment... our 197rwhp zx-10 track bike stays below 200* even when getting flogged at race tracks in florida.
I run it in my 240s and my civics without issue... We also use it in our 600rwhp C6 Z06 when we do trackdays as most sanctioning bodies require non glycol coolants in case of a spill... it never gets anywhere near "hot"

Which cap did you get?
My go autoworks cap that came with my radiator is good, it's s new, but I'm always looking for ways to stay cooler

I imagine it stays cooler. The water wetter really helped my car

If your cap is good then you don't need a new one. I got a mishimoto to match the radiator. It's a 19 psi cap. The old mishimoto one just gave up so didn't hold any pressure

i got a Greddy cap... works great with my koyo 52mm core half size radiator 18.5psi

There higher psi then OEM. The higher psi makes the cooling system more efficent
