automatic for sure! I've seen 5 speed B20s in Civics go low 15's.

Damn, I think both of you guys need to dive into that slush box next! A proper converter and that turbo Teg would see low 14's easy!

Slush box is a term jokingly referring to an automatic gearbox. Converters make all the difference on an auto drag car though so you will be happy with the investment. Having the engine leave right at the start of your camshafts power range is awesome. I literally shaved a full half second off ET's in my old VQ35 swapped A32 Maxima chassis just going from a stock 4 speed & convertor to a LSD 4speed & 3200 stall convertor. After that I increased the line pressure to firm/quicken the shifts and it was a lethal combination that would run right on par with similarly modded 6 speed models but way more consistent off the line.

ya. to bring this post some what out the grave me and my friend with the 15.1 all motor b20b will be strapping a ebay turboed peaced together kit on in a month to see what it does. so just wondering what where your final number you layed down? what size turbo did you end up using. did you use a Manuel or electronic boost controler? was the 14 pass you posted here the fastest it ever went ?

Nice job on setting this up on an obd2 teg. I love how these setups hold boost through shifts. I am curious of how your torque converter lock up works and your trans control is setup. I did this with obd1 so I know you can use a s300 ecu to control the engine programming and the separate tcm controls the trans with an obd1 setup. If you have to fully tune it you can run a obd2 to obd1 conversion harness to use s300 obd1 ecu and wire in an obd1 tcm. Like the guys said you want to keep those trans temps in check. Let me know of any tricks you learn to keeping the auto trans cool I am working on the same issue.

That would be interesting. You would definitely see a power increase due to eliminating the power sapping torque converter and never have an issue with converter lockup but I would imagine that at low speeds, part throttle cruise, and start/stops that you might run into problems with proper operation since there's no disconnect between engine rpm and input shaft rpm.

Sure there is. You would have to run a hydraulic TOB to actuate the clutch like you would with a manual. Apparently back in the day, before high stall converters were a thing, there was such a thing as the Clutchflite. and was more or less exactly what I was thinking of. Didn't even know there was such a thing till I looked it up. You started off just like a stick shift, but shifting afterwards was done by the auto box. In something like a honda auto, I think it has potential. The one issue is the potential of nuking the clutch pack from essentially neutral bombing an auto box. Of course, proper preload of the clutch would cure that (which you should do anyways on the strip haha)
Since the honda auto is basically an autoshift manual, I think it would drive just like an manual, but with auto shifts. Tune up the shift function and it could be a really snappy little bastard!
Hell, then you could try manual shifting it and it'll be like a god damn bastard redneck dogbox type deal

we are getting a 4500 stall converter made for are dc2 auto set up. we will be pushing 250whp to start and see how the trans takes it and if it hold we'll go up to 300. as for the gutlessness of the auto off the line we will be fixing that with a 50shot for first gear only.
