Cool man glad to see its making progress. Have you increased the line pressure at all to quicken shifts or is it all stock parameters still?

i wish i knew how to increase line pressure, but as of now its all stock. it works good , i just pulled the head and had it shaved 6 thous and added head studs and changed the water pump. reason i pulled the head was the water pump went out and she over heated it and it went to 270 degrees before she could pull over and it warped the head so we had it resurfaced. i think this bumped the compression a little as it feels a little peppier. we will find out friday when we go to the track.

That sucks about the warpage but hey atleast you have the bump in compression now. As far as the tranny, is there truly no software or company out there that can alter the TCM parameters of the Honda Automatics? I know most people only use 5-6 speed Hondas for performance purposes but I would have thought there would be atleast one or two auto die hards out there. I know an old trick on 3-4th Gen auto Maximas is to either unplug the harness to the line output press solenoid when at the track or install a WOT switch and ground out the solenoid at all times except WOT. You may want to try something like that as a start, because in the case of the Maxima simply unplugging the solenoid caused it to run at full line pressure, and SERIOUSLY increased the speed and firmness of shifts, and 3-4 tenths off of ET's. The only way to actually control line pressure though and not just spike it would be either an aftermarket custom valve body, or some sort of TCM programming which it sounds like is not available. In any event, good luck, and let us know what the cooler air and head shave did for your ET!

Also, I only suggest this since you have an external cooler for the tranny and are obviously not a novice to this world. Increasing the line pressure will cause a lot of extra heat as well, and a bone stock vehicle is often not a prime candidate for such a modification. it seems most reccomend automatics to stay around the 190-200 degree F range or below to prevent damage and wear, so obviously monitoring the tranny is always a good idea.

Wow even at the track you stay in the 170s? That's good **** man, your tranny should stay together for a while with just routine fluid/filter changes then. Man, I still wish there were more options for controlling the stock tranny. Having full control of pressure and convertor lockup would be SO beneficial for you right now. I bet with increased line pressure to firm up the gear changes and a higher stall convertor that Teg could be a solid 14.0 car at the current power level.

i would rather try and figure out how to get better gearing, this set up is a horrid 2.5 60 ft it has such a tall first gear and tight converter. id like to try and see if a 2wd auto crv trans is plug and play or a jdm automatic gsr. the CRV will have very low gears and be good for launching. its pretty easy to swap the trans it self i put a AWD 5 speed crv trans in my 95 hatch that i made AWD and it was a simple conversion. just getting the 60 ft down from a 2.5 to a 2.0 would make this a mid 13 second car alone. a 1.8 60 ft would be border line 12.9s

I Definately think 2.0 is doable at your power level, but 1.8x 60's are gonna take more than just a trans change, turn up the boost or cut some serious weight Lol. Either way, the lower gear trans should help in a big way so if it's a simple swap, I'm sure you will be very pleased. It would just be nice to have full control of all the functions of said trans via TCM tuning.

Not gonna lie when I first saw this thread I thought it was probably going to be some shitkid well, ****.
Then I realized that while I personally would never have been interested in owning a build like this, it's pretty awesome and creative how you're getting it done. Then boostedgsr here pointed out to me that your the YouTube guy with the 500+ practically stock b18c guy...after I saw the vid and the imw logos I began to wonder.
Simply awesome **** man, I may do something like yours and just drop some nippons in my b20 (if I can get lucky like vtecvillian and survive on stock sleeves)

to beable to go obd1 is very simple my buddy and i just made his 97 teggy obd1. get a p78-a01 tcm off ebay 30 bucks make it plugs and plays. get a obd1 p28 auto ecu socket it like any other obd1 ecu and get to tuning. once we finish his b20 it will be going 350whp b20 high comp"10.5;1" turbo. call jeremy at red zone preformance in antioch cali. he does alot of auto honda tunes. hes done count less 300whp auto tranny cars.

small update guys, we went 14.50 friday at 99.5 mph. today i made a small improvement on the car , the waste gate spring was to weak to hold the gate still at high rpm and boost would always fall off in high rpm. so on the dyno it was spiking to like 12 and falling back to 8 as rpms rose. and we needed a MBC to get it past 7 psi. today i put a stiffer spring in it and now it holds 9.8 to 10 psi steady at all rpm. I know its making more power because i had to max out the meth controller to bring AFRs back into check. so we are looking for over 100 mph at the next race and hopefully low 14s. thanks for all the feed back guys. and i will call that guy and talk to him about the trans.

UPDATE:

hey guys we took the boost controller off and put in a 10 ib spring so now it stays dead put at 10 psi not spiking to 12 and falling to 8 and the result is 14.0 instead of 14.5 and 104 instead of 99 video below , the track was cold and she actually spun a little lol

Toss stickier tires on it and I know you'll get that 60 foot down and the extra traction should bring that ET way down.
