I dunno about "Present". Precision's **** customer service and reliability issues (because "oil contaminants" is a GREAT way to avoid paying out a warranty claim...) is starting to kick them in the ***.
You should see the Domestic and sand rail guys. They still eat these turbos up and ask for more.

I was looking at multiple sales markets and their engine platforms. They sell a TON more than you think.

Sand rail, you say? There's the problem. I'd imagine those guys deal with oil contamination all the freaking time.

not really. those sand rail oiling systems are pretty self-contained. Its the thrust bearings that are garbage.

the twin turbo muscle car domestics do even more business

32psi of boost pressure to get 425whp on a 5831? Either you're calculating that incorrectly, or you've got massive boost leaks somewhere. Those can easily do about 450whp maximum with 10psi less.

Something's up.

I think it maybe the restrictive CXracing top mount manifold that cost me £180 and maybe the standard inlet. Also the dyno I went on is very accurate so no doubt its more like 450whp which is over 500bhp and turbo maxs out at 570bhp

No. I doubt that. and the turbo maxes out at 455whp. we don't count break horsepower on this forum. bhp to whp is a reduction of approximately 15%.

Either way, 32psi is just blowing hot air at that point. The Top mount manifold has nothing to do with an exhaust leak calling for 32psi of boost pressure.

Time to come up with another reason, because you're not making any reasonable sense.

So what is the max boost for a 5831 then?

engine specs: B16a2 completely stock
transmission/clutch specs: Competition stage 5/ fidanza 8lb
turbo setup: SC61 with .63 a/r
what shell its in: EJ7
what fuel tuned on:93
size slicks: n/a
best time: n/a
max whp: 290+
how long did it last: Still going strong
what shell was it in:97 HX
weight: Guessing 2400 w/o me 190

I'm guessing it has more power left, but I feel like it may have been sandbagged due to fuel cut or not revving to 8k. I put 2500 miles on it so far and have plans for ARP headstuds, and some cooling mods soon.
next spring I'll be caught up on my list and have it retuned by CCC racing.

Nice setup man. I just read through some of your build thread over on ti. How much boost did it take for 427whp? What your timing at up top? Those are some pretty decent numbers for 92 octane man. Nice to see you take it to the track and run it like it's built for too.

From my build thread: https://honda-tech.com/appearance-bu...build-3245893/ (a little out of date)

Block:
- B16A2 81.5mm stock sleeves
- B16A2 stock crank
- SRP custom wrist pin location & low-height 9:1 pistons (got them used)
- LS/B20 H-beam rods with ARP 2000 bolts
- Block guard

Head:
- Stock ports B16A2 head
- Stock OBD1 B16A3 intake manifold
- Stock B16A2 throttle body
- Stock B16A2 camshafts
- Super Tech valve springs
- Brian Crower steel retainers
- ARP head studs

Turbo Kit:
- Garrett T3/T04E 60 Trim Stage 3
- Blox/EMUSA cast iron manifold
- 2.5" down-pipe to 3" exhaust
- Old school Drag FMIC (small 2" inlet/2.25" outlet)
- 2.5" IC piping
- 38mm TiAL WG
- Blox MBC

Tuned on Crome - 16 PSI - 91 octane
275 WHP & 200 WTrq

Head gasket started to leak, allowing exhaust combustion into the coolant system, so new parts are going on/in for a new re-tune.

- Edelbrock Performer-X intake manifold
- Edelbrock 65mm throttle body
- 95-99 Spec ITR cams
- FMIC with 2.5" inlet/outlet to match the 2.5" IC piping
- Mishimoto low-temperature fan switch and thermostat
- Spoolin' Performance ram horn manifold, 3" down pipe, and open dump tube

Yes'ir! Pistons were custom made (totally unaware of when I purchased them used here in the market section). I had the pistons on Eagle B16 rods, installed them into the block only find them sitting ~ 3mm below the deck height at TDC. Did some measurements and figured LS/B20 length rods would work, and they did
