Default rich out of boost / lean under boost ... crome issue??

I am trying to tune my turbo CRX. I got it running very well last year then parked it for winter. I like to think I am savvy with crome. Was tinkering with it now and here is the deal... This thing runs RICH at idle-10:1 (my AFR reads only down to 10) and at WOT I can barely get it to 12:1. The thing that really confuses me, though, it seems as soon as I get boost it INSTANTLY leans out maxing out my gauge to 17+:1. The engine basically dies at this point, I can feel violent hesitation.

So just trying to cruise I am maxing out at 10:1 and under boost I jump to 17:1 Far side rich instantly to far side lean.

I have tried many different new bins. Obviously tried changing the fuel values. With NO change seen at all! I set the idle values so lean the car should not even be running and I still get RICH. I set the boost fuel values so rich my duty cycle almost maxed and still LEAN.

I swapped out my MAP and tried using a 3bar GM.

And of course I no longer can RTP or even think about data logging, thanks crome.

Here is a quick breakdown of setup - d16y8 VTEC CRX, 440cc injector, AEM wideband, chipped p28 running Crome.

I appreciate your reply! I considered that, but can it really be giving this whacky reading? Never dealt with a bad one is all. Is it worth taking it our and cleaning it up?

Yeah when they go bad they get stuck like that

Cleaning it wont do any good

Im assuming youre making big changes to the fue map and the readings are staying the same?

Bad sensor or your map sensor scaling is way out to left field

I loaded up the tune I know was good from last year. You are correct, changing fuel values seems to have no effect. But I cannot RTP to dial in as easy.. If the gauge is wrong I know the car still runs rich. My plugs are BLACK and the snow where I let it idle is covered in soot haha. But then when boost hit the car sputters and falls flat. Reads MAX lean. I could see the gauge being misleading if it still pulled hard. But it runs bad and the AFR also look bad.

Is it sputtering from TOO much fuel all round? If I am getting WAY too much fuel I am going to line that up as a coincidence with my gauge indeed being bad.

This is why I hate having cars sit for more then a month.

And I was using a GM 3-bar then tried re-tuning it with my stocker.

Quick thought. The 440's I used are from a 1994 turbo civic. That civic had a resister box, so I assumed they were low impedance? I am using my stock resister box so I ASSUMED it would all be OK.

Wide band sensor is bad for sure. Same symptoms when mine capped out. Auto zone has them for under 50 bucks.

Measure the resistance across the box.

some CROME setups dont have the O2 tied into the program. Do you know if yours is integrated or not? Mine is stand alone from the AEM guage to the downpipe
