reliable b16 300whp, stock rebuild ok?
I'am kind of new to b-series; but, I've trolled around and see that there are quite a stock shortblock b16s making ~300whp. I was wondering if I were to rebuild my higher milage jdm b16 would it be able to handle 300whp?

300whp on a b16 is just fine for a stock rebuild because torque is what really stresses the engine...and you won't be making any of that haha

Man U FTW
if you're buying pistons and rebuilding the engine anyway, why not just rebuild it with CP 9:1's with Eagle rods.....that would give you a little room for error

should be okay with a good tune. Just make sure the ignition tables are conservative and the fuel tables a little rich...
A friend of mine ran his stock b16 for almost a year running 13psi on a 2871R, making 295whp/210tq ... compression test still showed the same. Only reason he got rid of it was because he was tired of it, and the weather got cold ... so he sold the turbo, and is in the process of building the motor.

Do a compression test. If it is good just turbo it. Stock b16 can reach 300 hp mark with no problem. Just get a good tune. If you torn apart the bottom then might as rebuild it with some forge goodies.
