Re: the official ebay turbo thread.
Yeah, well to that I can say my friend has a shop, and just for a refference, my buddy was in the maket for downpipes in his s4... bought name brand they were 2k, he made them from 304 for 670 and pocketed half...I think the problem IS the shop getting greedy because we demand a luxury, not a necessity. And I'm right on board with lesser parts and depreciation... I got like 1500 in my kit, so far nothing wrong with it why blow 4k on a toy...? and I've gone to a reputable shop for services, actually The Shop in ct. They tuned my z, and I paid what he asked, when they couldn't raise the boost I said it was fine and went home. Lowe and behold when I hit the boost limiter on the hwy... then put even more $$$ into a laptop and hookups to find out only half the map was tuned because the resoltion was set for 20psi when I told him no more then 12 will be run. There's more to the story, and turbo kit mods I had to do since, but getting back to the point of getting screwed, I wasn't happy, the tune was rough, I paid and didn't complain, and got f ed for it. So the last thing I wanna hear is a lecture on overhead.

anyways lets try to not get too off topic here. just wanna keep it to feedback and experiences with people who have owned ebay turbo parts.
Im pretty interested in seeing who all has ran ebay tubular manifolds. Iv seen a few d series ones in person and they looked like a joke with tiny runners but they could be different then some of the newer rams. Iv heard of a few people getting ebay manis with really thick tubing. lets keep this thread going guys.

iv heard lots of horror stories about them but Iv also seen a few people run them with success. Iv seen a NSR-Tech top mount have the w.g. fall off too and nate made some pretty good manis for a local guy. Im just trying to see if anyone has one and its doing ok for them as Iv heard that some of the newer ones have much thicker tubing.

Staying on topic....I believe my friend had a wastegate that was Ebay that he got from a certain shop around here and the top spun like a top and boost spiked like I have never seen. The wastegate spiked way to much boost to his motor and ended up popping his motor. Now he has got a much better Godspeed one that doesn't turn and holds boost. If the top of the wastegate spins=don't buy that ****!

Re: the official ebay turbo thread.
bone stock d16y7
i have a legit garrett turbo and turbonetics WG but also
ebay IC piping 2.5"
ebay bov
ebay FMIC lightly sprayed flat black for sleeper look
ebay cast manifold
ebay hids
ebay 3" mandrel bent exhaust
running 9psi
unknown 1/4 mile time
everything working great tho.
those ebay IC pipes are nice and beefy, t-clamps were strong and hold very well, and couplings were nice and thick.
everything else works great, no complaints. boosting around town all day errr day.
ebay saves my wallet

Re: the official ebay turbo thread.
this thread seriously brings the LOLs
i keep going back and forth on doing a low boost setup on the jdm itr engine
then i stumble in here read the threads
realize a decent t3 turbo and half way decent manifold like the $395 forged performance piece still creates a $2000 expense
170whp to 270whp = $2000
still tire kicking.....

Re: the official ebay turbo thread.
You can piece a kit together for less than that and have it tuned. I have just over 2k in my LS-V, turbo, and 2 tunes. It just takes time and patience on finding good deals on parts.

Re: the official ebay turbo thread.
just wait till you learn to tune your own cars (if that interests you) its soo nice cause the possibilitys are endless and you can change anything you want at any given time. if it weren't for s300 I would have probably never started messing around and figuring things out for my self.

Re: the official ebay turbo thread.
I am waiting on getting either s300 or rtp. Currently in the process of buying a house soooo... I am very interested in learning how to tune. I think with some track tuning as my car is now I can get mid possibly low 11's on radials. How easy is s300 to use? I have helped people tune there cars with it but never actually played with the program myself.

Re: the official ebay turbo thread.
its really straight forward just take your time with it and get comfortable. I had turbo-ls help me through a couple of my first setups and now I think I have it down for the most part. the only crappy thing is my pos old laptop battery only lasts like 10 minutes before it dies lol.

Re: the official ebay turbo thread.
Id say Neptune all the way these days.
But I pieced together my first "legit" setup for less then 2k including clutch/wideband etc. a friend tuned it at first and then I learned how myself.
