The Official 99-00 Civic Intercooler + Foglights Thread
Post em up!
Along with your pics, please post the following:
Type of piping kit: Brand name, custom, piping size, etc.
Intercooler brand:
Intercooler size:
What modifications you made to fit the fogs:
Now for me,
Type of piping kit: Greddy kit with Greddy piping. 2" inlet 2 1/4" outlet
Intercooler brand: Treadstone intercooler.
Intercooler size: 28”x6” overall
Modifications:
Passenger’s side. Long support bracket cut. Back bracket on foglight cut to clear the charge pipe. The pipe slopes down and clears the foglight housing. Fits very well.
Driver’s side. Long support bracket cut. Back bracket on foglight cut, as well as a notch cut out of the foglight housing. Illustrated as such:
After I cut out the housing, the inside was exposed, so I filled it in with Hondabond. In order to get the foglight in the correct position, I had to push down on the pipe and tighten down the screws to hold it in place. It is very tight and there is no freeplay.
I may re-do it with a custom pipe, but I’m going to see how this works for now. Custom piping is expensive.
EDIT: Recently I had the bumper off and decided to re-do the piping since the driver's side pipe was still hitting the housing and causing the fog light garnish to bulge out. I was able to lower the intercooler approximately 1 inch and trimmed the fender liner accordingly. The piping now sits low enough that it completely clears the fog housing. If I wanted I could get a new, un notched housing to replace mine. Why didn't I do this before? I wanted the intercooler to sit against the bumper beam for maximum exposure in the grill and to create a pressure differential. Now I want it to fit right.

Good stuff.
I was thinking maybe mount the intercooler a little lower so your ic pipes wouldn't have to angle downward so much?

Believe me, I tried. The passenger side pipe is hitting the splash guard already and I could have lowered the drivers side more, but that would give me a real ****-eyed intercooler and would have looked goofy.

Are your foglights OEM? Do you normally have to cut big *** holes like that in the bumper to install fog lights?

2.5inch piping
23x11x3.5 spearco
back door on driver side/ outlet on bottom of the tank(pass)
cut the long leg off the fog light bracket.
here is my car. just got done building it last week. i custom made the intecooler piping. JM fab welded it all for me. i also had the outlets moved down on my end tanks.
all i have for now. i will get a few more shots soon enough.

Re: The Official 99-00 Civic Intercooler + Foglights Thread (Dturbocivic)
I used an SRT4 intercooler(double backdoor endtanks). I had to remove the bumper bar to get it to fit.
But using and SRT4 intercooler shaved me loads on the cost of intercooler piping.
Compressor outlet is attached directly to the Intercooler inlet. And I don't have to route my piping all over the place to reach the throttle body.

You obvioulsy didn't notice the very first pic with the foglight and garnish in to see that it's all trimmed out?
Yes they are OEM, and yes, as stated before, you do have to cut a hole that big. The hole is even outlined on the back of the bumper.
MORE PICS!!

Here is Jason's aka: Blown90hatcH
He has the intercooler mounted upside down and there is no support so it makes it allot easier!
You guys should also note if you have traction bars or not

Jasons car DOES have a traction bar yeah he had to work to get it all in there well but it looks so nice, the intercooler is flipped and it made everything in the front end look so much nicer

Bigger intercooler and 3" charge piping coming soon. Still keep the fogs too.
