Re: My new EM1 build, shooting for 500+ whp
So I was out on the streets last night, getting some more miles on the break-in before I retune. I was minding my own business when a newer GTO (basicly a Corvette, with a 6L bigblock V8) came up next to me expecting to horse around.
He dropped a gear from a 40mph roll, and went for it. I dropped from 3rd to 2nd, spooled boost and was gone... I had at least 3-4 car lengts on him by the top of 3rd gear and immediately let off and he passed me... I think I embarassed the **** out of him cause he was quick to turn the corner at the next light before I could even get next to him again.
LOL that was my first V8 kill story, thought I would share it with you all... Not that I condone street racing in anyway, but on an empty street for the chance to fvck up some domestic V8s; Im down...
One point for the em1, minus a point for GTOs

Well now on top of all the stress in my life lately, a really unexpected death in the immediate family forces me to need money even worse...
I dont have a choice but to liquidate this car asap. I owe $7k on it, and have invested more than that in 2011 alone. I have been asking $9500, but now would be willing to take $8800... Somebody out there has cash, and I need it badly. Pm me for cell number and lets figure out a way for you to get it shipped... Please!

That really sucks though man, sorry for the loss and hopefully you find a way to keep what you've been working hard to get going.

Man, F this noise; if I cant even get less than $9k, its hardly worth selling.... I have it stored safely in a secret location for the next several weeks while I head out of Phx to the northwest for a much needed vacation. I really need to get my **** straight. Im looking for new work and new oppertunities to move on from this god awful breakup.. In the meantime, Ill still be makin money, so there isnt a whole lot of reason why I couldnt just put it on hold a minute and have it shipped to where Ill be moving (Portland?!?) and have a chance to actually see this build to the end... I love my EM1, FTW...

Tell me about it, all I keep getting is $5k cash offers or "trade me for my 01 gsxr600".... Its gonna cost me to ship it again, wherever I go, but it should be worth it...

If you can afford to keep it and just do what you have to do work wise to make ends meet then take that path before taking a substantial financial loss by selling it. Just put it aside for the time and keep your chin up! Nice car and I have enjoyed the thread.

Thank you, I like to hear others bennefit from all of my madness and mistakes Ive made on this project lol. Theres lots of lessons to learn in this thread; about proper bolt torque, money management (or lack thereof) and even dealing with bitches lol. So if theres a moral to the story its this: Make lots of money, and wise decisions on how to spend it on your car, and buy hookers instead of a wife; its much cheaper!!

Re: My new EM1 build, shooting for 500+ whp
PROGRESS!! Divorce is finally in full swing, I'm in a new place (with a nice safe garage) and life is starting to get better...
Today a major leap was made by getting this thing street legal Yes I finally got plates and registration!! I've owned this car well over a year and have only put less than 600 miles on it, all with temp tags. All this blood sweat and tears is finally starting to pay off...
Soon I will be all caught up with all my bills and will be able to start pouring cash back into it... Next few items on the list (after my final tune) are suspension first, twin disc clutch and dss axle setup. It makes no sence to make 600hp if you can't put it to the pavement...
More progress, pictures and dyno charts soon to come

Awesome to see you're back and with your car! Seriously, get a suspension/bushing setup immediately & a set of axles from DSS. I was only at 340hp and snapped a few axles but I can only imagine your issues, lol

Re: My new EM1 build, shooting for 500+ whp
Hell yeah! I'm so stoked I got to drive it to work today! It's only on 8lbs on the street so traction/axles aren't as much of an issue on the street as it is on the track when its Hittin 600+whp
Joe, good work on your car I'm impressed! I new back on the dyno ASAP; I'm gonna get the walboro 400lph pump and retune here in the next few weeks!

Really inspirational build. Thought it wasn't going to get finished after this thread took a giant nose dive on page 10, so glad you kept the car!
This build was pretty much Murphy's Law at it's finest.
Good luck and I hope it doesn't give you anymore problems.

Life throws some crazy **** at us now and then, it's up to us how we handle it...
It wasn't just this thread, but my whole life took a giant nose dive! Like the Phoenix, I rise from the ashes and come out on top (how ironic all this happened in Phoenix).
Seriously, thank you all for your kind words of encouragement; sometimes you all are the only reason I still have this car and will see it through to the end...
Hopefully dyno numbers soon!

I remember seeing this car on Spokane Craigslist, always loved and wanted it, now after reading all 11 pages, even that much more impressed with what you've done. AMAZING work hope you get to keep it, or if not; good luck with the sale.
