WOW!! i just read through 19 pages
anyone have an update on these?
im gonna use them on a z6 block and they say there is a 1.7mm clearence issue. i dont want to touch the block and shorten it because it will cost alot.. except for block guard or whatever.. is 1.7 alot??
is it worth going with forged?

im trying to keep the costs low while i save for a b or k series

BTW: If no one noticed..member JFK_78 recently dynoed 442whp and 323lbs/ft with the 75mm vitaras on a Mustang Dyno..Dyno runs made in 4th gear.. Thats easily a +/- 475whp on a dynojet and over 500 Flywheel hp

All with a stock Y8 Head (just cam)

i think the piston dish needs recalculation
the compression height of the ycp vitaras are not to the rim of the piston top
if the volume of the piston dish is being determined by fluid filling it is likely innacurate
the rim of these pistons i believe is actually above the point compression height is determined from
therefore some of the dish sits above the true top of the piston
and the rim is actually adding compression...while the dish is taking it away

this reference uses 6cc as dish volume

bump for piston dish volume recalculation.. that difference is deciding whether i stick with D or screw it and go B.. someone let me know!!!

also, if i can only lower deck height by .037 inches and keep the same timing belt, does anyone make valves to raise compression for D series motors? i'm assuming a good set of NA flat faced valves would do the trick, but how much am i looking at gaining from getting those?? also, with a D16z6 block and head, could i take off more and just use a different timing belt (i.e. vx belt) , if so, how much could i take off without problems, and what belt would i need to use? also with a Y8..

ok, last question.. i've been searching, and i can't find a decent ramhorn or similar turbo mani in the 400ish range.. i can' only find the cheap ss autocrap, and the 800 dollar ones are more than i want to spend.. any suggestions? i don't want the cast mani's either..
