25k miles is...no. I'm not interested in rebuilding my head every 25k. From what I've read, the stock units are steel, and chromoly is basically better steel, just a little heavier than titanium. I really want to know what the difference is between 84162 and 84162HC, though.

I'd love to finish my build, I just ran into another ******* wall. At this point, I've gotten used to them Gonna call Inline Pro tomorrow for information and a price quote, and put in a couple calls to my people, see if someone can get me a deal on the 84162S.

I hate titanium retainers. every damn company only makes titanium retainers for the LS Except Brian Crower. they have a stainless steel one. I have to check what their seat pressure and lift limit is but I'll probably end up with BC springs and retainers in my head.

Never seen a worn out titanium retainer. Ran mine on the street for 6 years daily driven hard never an issue. When they came out of the head they were is perfect condition and the springs had not lost any seat pressure. JUN springs and retainers. Funny part is the supertechs I installed after those lasted all of 30 passes and lost a **** ton of seat pressure on the springs. Retainers and locks were fine though

I have rocket motorsports dual springs and titanium retainers on my ls. they snap fit so I'm sure they won't have wear issues

the thing is, I emailed rocket about them and he said they don't look like rocket retainers

What about the under side, where the springs touch the retainers? That's where it would wear. I'm also pretty set on sticking with Crower - Crower made the cams, they should know best what springs to pair with them. Also, I'm talking about proper Crower, not BC

If the shop had told me my valves were bent or something, and the head needed some hefty work, the thought was definitely in my mind

Got about 6 people email me and say they are ready to buy with cash, then nothing happens, or they ask me to hold parts for them until they get paid on Friday.

ugh, Honda life lol

1st come, first serve is the best policy. Only hold if you're willing to take a deposit towards your final agreed price.. There's a risk in that too, as you may agree to a lower price than what you want. but that's how people have "dibs" on things.

Otherwise, Money talks... Bullsh!t runs a marathon

Oh Yeah thats what I told all of them. Most of them ask very fundamental questions about the parts that are either clearly outlined in the FS thread or they should know buying before hand.

Like "what blocks does this fit." lol

That's because there isn't a straight answer. Once your head is properly equipped/built with the parts to handle such a large cam profile, then you need to check Piston to valve clearance and that will tell you if the Pistons need to be cut & whatever machine work needs done for your specific setup. There isn't going to be a set machining procedure because it's going to vary depending on what Pistons are used, if the head/block being used has been decked or milled etc. it varies from setup to setup.

I mean, Crower's website tells you that, too...

Extensive cylinder head modification, bigger titanium valves, lightweight valve train, maximum flow carburetion or fuel injection, racing gas (alcohol or nitro), magneto or electronic ignition, performance rod and crank assembly and increased engine clearances are required for maximum benefit.
It's a race cam. You need a professionally built motor with 405's. aggressive compression, aggressive fuel system, aggressive fuel, aggressive tires, aggressive everything.

1999 Integra LS, B18B1 with 82K miles
-Head milled .006", ARP head studs, OEM head gasket
-Blox turbo manifold
-Precision 5031e (50 Trim T04E cold side with a T31 exhaust wheel in a .63 T3 housing)
-Turbosmart 38mm Ultragate with external dump
-Custom 3" downpipe -> 2.36" Apexi WS2 exhaust
-3" QTP cutout on downpipe
-2" hot side piping, 2.5" cold side piping
-350hp Spearco intercooler
-Skunk2 intake manifold
-560cc Evo 9 injectors
-190LPH Walbro fuel pump
-Tuned by myself on Hondata s300 with boost by gear

Final results, 286hp at 17psi with the exhaust cutout open (on a dynojet).

I got the original graph with no torque values so I ripped into Excel, converted to RPMs and added the torque graph

Trade sexual favors for the head? lol

I have so many LS blocks and heads yet I've never really though about a straight LS build. Granted I have more engines than chassis at the moment.
