not an LS anymore, but still in this thread since it's more informative than most...exhaust, oil pan, and resistor box is all that's left to do

it's a stock gsr. I'd rather have an LS mainly b/c if it blows on the track, it'd be cheaper to replace. But I've never had turbo vtec, so I'll see if I like if better

I just bought a go autoworks off of someone here. Should have it tomorrow. Gotta order heat wrap, blanket, downpipe materials, half size rad and misc ****. Should be pretty straightforward.

Stumbled upon lightnings brake upgrade. Going to be doing this to my gsr when I get it down here. Type r or legend brakes with mini Cooper rotors ftw! Im thinking about either ebb yellows or reds

alright well i hope i can get some answers here to help my decision.
im planning on boosting my teggy. daily driven for the most part but wont hurt to have fun every once in a while. planning on boosting 10psi max for starters. most people are using t3/t4 with either 57 trim or 60 trim. what turbos are u guys exactly using.? i was looking at the godspeed turbo kit and the xspower one however ive read and read that ebay turbos are crap but some people say to just swap out the wg and bov and maybe manifold others say that some turbos actully need to be rebalanced.?? i have turbonetics evolution wg and blitz bov. now people even say to just build a kit and itll be cheaper. these kits are areound 650 pretty much what i have been finding name brand turbos alone... what do u guys think.? would apprecite it if u guys give me some advice maybe on to which would be best. thanks.

GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE, do NOT buy a chinese ebay kit aka godspeed or xspower.

There are cheaper ways to do things and then there is just complete junk. If you want something very basic get a cast log manifold even a cheap ebay one but make sure the wastegate placement is a centered as possible and not just on one cylinder. Get a tial 38mm or turboneics 38mm wastegate (used is fine and i know someone selling one) Get a used or new 50 trim t3/t4 with a .63 turbine housing or even a .48 turbine housing if you had to cause you find one cheap(it will spool quicker). then have a dp made or try to find one that fits corectly or make it your self if you can half *** weld lol. The blitz BOV is fine. and you can get SRE charge pipe kit for 150 bucks and its vehicle specific

Trust me do it right the first time or you will be buying it all over again and have wasted money.

I'm currently in the market for turbo parts(the full kit I wanted was sold :/) and I came across RLD ram manifold... I did my research and couldn't find anything bad about them. I just want to double check though. Are they good manifolds? no boost creep problems etc etc

What kind of power are you looking for and what's done to the engine? There is also the silver surfer which is another amazing turbo by STC and more suitable for an ls engine if not running a built motor or even if running a built motor

hoping for ~400whp.... Engine so far consist of crower stage 2 turbo cams and valves, retainers, valve springs, blox IM. Short block will have after market rods and pistons, ARP rod bolts stock sleeves. All 81mm Stand bore all new bearings gaskets etc etc. I'll ask him about the silver surfer...

Any input on that mani though?

EG2JR - I would do a minimum of a short ram on an LS for 400whp. Ram horn would be best or top mount btu if trying to retain a/c then ramhorn

JDMEDDIE - Stock b18a/b can handle 300whp safely reguardless of turbocharger and boost pressure doesnt mean much its the HP that is the limiting factor.

that being said with a good tuner a 50 trim should make 300whp around 15-16psi but will vary from engine to engine
