Went to the track last Friday and the car was consistent in the 10s. I borrowed my friends 23" slicks and for the first time the car cut 1.5 60ft and broke to 6 seconds in the 1/8 mile..

I noticed my mph keeps dropping and the turbo is spitting oil looks like it touched the compressor housing. I tried to get on it on the way back home and it's barely building boost, it's bucking up or shaking or something weird is going on. I also broke the 3rd slamming on gears, but oh well, I'll be back soon enough.

Zip tie to the rescue!

Some passes from Friday

More passes..

I might throw in a Holset hx35 in there to finish the season

Nice work man! Breaking is part of the game. I have about 10lbs worth of zip ties on my car, I could probably break 10s if I removed them all haha. Hope to see your car back on the track soon. Good luck.

Thanks man.

So i posted my turbo kit for sale on facebook and had enough flakes my hair almost fell off. Long story short, I opened the turbo for inspection and fixed the crack on the manifold.

Nothing like opening a turbo in the office at work.

The bearings didn't look terrible, but the backing plate or whatever you call it looks worn.

Added a bracket on the wastegate flange to prevent it from cracking again.. I guess it would have been a good idea to do in the first place since the car has so much vibration with the stiffer mounts.

Resurfaced both the turbo and manifold's flange to prevent any boost leaks. '

And also cleaned the hotside housing and brackets.

Before

After

About a good hour or two later she's back in one piece.

It drives fine and somewhat still boosting... I'm sure it'll still hit 10s no problem... Lol..

I'm going to bring it out this Sunday and have some more fun with it.

So no problems found with the wheel (hitting housing)?

Nope but something got into the compressor housing like a dirt or a tiny rock which dented the compressor a little and scratched the inner side of the housing.. Still works! Haha.. I will rebuild this turbo and keep it as a spare, or make it a decoration in my room.. I recently got my new precision 6262 .82ar with billet housing and will be going front face next season.

So I've been back at the track quite a few times since i last updated this thread. I have competed in different events, broke a few trans, tps sensor, dealt with hondata glitch issues etc... The motor is still in great shape however, and still going to keep running it until the season ends. The transmission is currently in a really bad shape and I'm sure i broke the shift forks from the last event.

Here's one of the honda events from a couple weeks ago.

This one was from last Sunday

And here's a quick timelapse of us installing clutch on a Ep3

Some photos at the track.

And I've been busy riding MTB's lately as well and here's my new DH MTB

I'm going to be working with the D2b conversion soon so i will update again about that later.

This makes me want to toss my Y8 together, find a shell, and build a ***** and giggles drag car. Ironically enough a friend has a fully caged rolling shell 96-00 coupe. If only I had the extra room for another chassis. Le sigh.

Yeah a sweet rig for sure. I have a Transition Dirtbag that i pieced together from the frame, used to be real into the fr/dh stuff. I saw they were the p2p0 rods n I have been thinking about doing a vitara build with those rods, I am trying to find out how to get as high of a cr as I can with the vitara pistons, without spending too much, I thought these custom length rods raised it to 8.5:1 on a z6 with stock gasket?

We've covered that in here.

D17 crank, the longer rods, and Vitaras equals around 11:1
The rod ratio kind of blows though.

Only other way is to use forged pistons

Yes I've decided to keep it simple with this set-up and keep it on the low budget wise as much as possible. And P2p0 rod will be close to 8.5:1 yeah, depends on how much materials have been milled off the head and the block. And transition bikes are definitely good bikes, I just couldn't justify paying the big bills to own one. Either I'm being practical, that or I'm just cheap. Lol.

Yessir, Danz of farmyard have done it, but I think I'd much rather to the forged set-up if it really comes down to it.

Anyway I picked up this DC4 teggy today. My very first acura and would be a shame to drive her this winter.

Thanks. So far the plan is just to keep it stock and maybe try the road racing just to get the feel of the time attack.

Sorry for the long updates I've been busy with work. There's been a few changes since last month, which consist of me gettting rid of the teggy and picked a 2002 Rsx Type-S with A-spec body kit.

Bye Felicia!

Here's the new ride

Well long story short, I had the Rsx for about a month and now ready to move on to a different platform. I am currently waiting for the title to get send to me so i could sell it and use the cash for the next vehicle. I know, it's not D16 turbo related, but we will get there. I am now looking to get a black 5-speed Lexus IS300 with the 2JZ-Ge motor rwd lsd for my next project. Something similar to this

Anyhow, here's some more potato action of the D16 from last year, definitely a lot of kills and made a few saulty V8 owners. Like and share so i could make money with my youtube account.. Haha.

I will update again later when there's something worth updating..

Regards!
Jun
