Default How's my redline with MSD box on FI H22?

I have an MSD box with the rpm limit chips / pills and it use to be set at 7200 rpm but I am thinking of going up to a 7500 rpm limiter chip - will this be safe? The bottom end built on my H22A (Mahle Pistons, Eagle Rods, Honda bearings, etc.). Head is stock!

BTW, I am asking this cos something tells me these msd chips are off somewhat - I just noticed on my dynosheet that the limiter seemed to kick in at 6900rpm with the 7200 rpm chip - did not fully tune the car due to boost controller crapping out...

that depends more upon your valvetrain than just the msd rev limiter

Valvetrain is stock - so I'm guessing the 7500 rpm should be safe?

I have came across alot of posts all over the net of people revving to 8k on the stock valvetrain - I am guessing 7500 rpm would be a totally safe limit then on a good motor.

Hey sorry man - I just now saw this post! The Mahles are holding up great so far and the p2w clearance numbers I can't really remember but they were all within spec as in the service manual. Now the ring gaps had to be made a liiiittle bigger cos of 20 psi (so I was told by Mahle tech support). I got about 600 miles on them so far.

You will not be disappointed as long as you like triple check all your clearances and make sure everything is within spec and also have a good tuner
