kind of an off topic question. what about a 3in dp to 2.5 exhuast? on a car making 300whp on a T3/T04e 57 trim .70 AR would it give any hp gains to run open dp and how would removing the exhuast effect the tune if it was tuned with the 2.5in exhuast on it if at all?

your creating a restriction (bottle neck) going from 3 inch piping to 2.5 piping however if your only going for 300whp i mean it will function... open downpipe is going to give no restrictions... if u have a 2 lane highway (3 inch piping) and then it merges into a 1 lane highway (2.5 inch piping) the flow of exhaust gas is going to slow down because of the decrease size in space... its pretty simple...

now im going overboard here but:
a 200 horsepower car is like a very small car on that 2 lane highway easier to fit into that 1 lane highway
a 300 horsepower car is like a small car on the highway
a 400 horsepower car is like a medium car on the highway
a 500 horsepower car is like a large size car on that 2 lane highway
etc
etc

does that make any sense?

is that your setup currently?

yea i understood that the 3in to 2.5 is going to cause restriction. i do have a 3in exhuast for an eg i would just have to make it fit an ek so im thinking of doing that. i bought the car that way so if were up to me i would never had done that. in my past turbo setups i have always ran a 3in open dp or a full 3in exhuast. my concerns were mostly that if the car had a tune in it with that exhuast on would running open dp or switching to a 3in effect the tune at all? i know that it would make more power but i wasnt sure if that type of change effects the tune.

basically i was wondering if i wanted to run a different exhuast or open dp say to the track would it change anything?

Extremely helps with the tone as well.. (tuning that is)

Do you have access to a dyno? I would be interested in a 4" run then then a 3" run with no other changes.. I would give you a slight % discount on the product if your able to do so. let me know (email please)

i determined the problem was the muffler, what are you talking about??

the 2nd problem is the fact that i did not hard wire the in tank walbro fuel pump (see my sig) because the walbro could not maintain the high fuel pressure...

the 3rd problem was the dyno straps... a car went on that same dyno a week later and had the same problems...

i changed the turbo and cams because i got a really good deal from Jeff @ CCT.

who did I not listen to?
