Default greddy vs edelbrock kits

both kits are 50 state legal for the 96-00 EX d16y8. which would perform better? have more potential? reliability? greddy is a lot cheaper so thats a plus.

I personally prefer the greddy kit over the edelbrock kit, power potential wise.

Both kits allow you to keep A/C, which is nice.

I have a greddy kit, and I like it. It spools instantly and makes power up to 6500rpm. The greddy turbo is efficient up to 15 psi and is capable of 250-260whp.

The edelbrock kit is capable of up to 20 psi I believe? but makes around 250whp at 20 psi.

With the greddy kit, intercooler, BOV, etc. you're looking at around 2500 new, where as the edelbrock kit is around 3300-3400.

I'd say greddy; simpler, more power at lower boost levels, better torque because it's a smaller turbo, and perfect for under 250whp.

The edelbrock kit gives you more parts. Intercooler, bov, injectors, intake manifold, and you get a ball-bearing T28. But if you bought the same parts from Greddy, intercooler, injectors, bov, and an intake manifold of your choice, you will probably be making more power from the greddy kit as someone already stated. I use the greddy kit now and at 5psi it is pretty damn good. I haven't even put my intercooler on yet, just turbo kit and greddy type-s bov.

You forgot

aka010010 = tool.

Greddy = underrated, perfect for daily drivers, cheaper and better performing at lower boost levels than Edelbrock and cheaper with intercooler and BOV. Killer torque numbers too!

Edelbrock = overrated, perfect for daily drivers, expensive but you get a lot of ****, doesn't make that much torque though.

Drag = big turbo on small motor, takes slightly longer to spool, makes more peak HP but the drivability and useable powerband that the other 3 kits have is not there as much.

Apexi = bomb-***, but discontinued and expensive.
