The fueling / fuel rail AN sizing and some info on Holley FPR
Ok im in the plans on doing a quick update on my fueling.
Two quick questions.
Im somehow in a hurry because ll have to get to my tuner on athens (400 miles) before a new COVID lockdown occurs...
I found the holley both localy and really cheap. Like half the price of a A1000...
Also the AEM FUEL RAIL the classic one again localy and very cheap.
1) Anyone used the holley FPR? I know holley is respected company but you never know thats why im asking.
2) The aem fuel rail inlet is -6an fitting if im not mistaken. The deal is ill be changing the feed like all the way to the tank in like 4-5 months from now all along with the awd project.
I was planing on doing a -8an feed line like everybody seems to like to run. I plan on hitting 700 hp in 2021. Will ill be able to hit that on -6an feed line, maybe i dont even need a 8an feed line at the end?
Isnt it counter productive to do -8an feed and go down to 6an on the fuel rail inlet?
Id get a golden eagle or a radium fuel rail that both seem to have -8an feed holes but theyll be here the sooner like 20 to 30+ days from now cause noone has them in stock localy.

Why not get the 12-880 with the -6AN inlet/outlet/return ports so you do not have to buy reducer fittings. -6AN line will support more than 700 WHP, you do not "need" -8AN line.

Re: The fueling / fuel rail AN sizing and some info on Holley FPR
I split a diaphragm inside my Holley FPR... the tech department stated that I was running too much fuel pressure for the diaphragm to last. Pressure was set to 55psi static and had 22 psi of boost... so I was seeing 77-78psi of fuel pressure. Once the diaphragm failed, a TON of fuel was flowing into the intake manifold through the vacuum line and nearly hydro-locked my engine.

Thanks for the input mate. What AN in/out version do you have?

Ok im leaning towards 6an now. Still everyone goes for 8an. Did anyone ever had max fow indication on 6an ? hmm
Do you remember if you have the same version or an older one do you remember? I have an older one. It is a fuel rail mounted style FPR... I think it is this one: https://www.holley.com/products/disc.../parts/512-506

Funny thing: Back in 2002, I had the same type of failure with an AEM fuel rail mounted FPR within one hour after unboxing and installing it. I contacted AEM for a warranty replacement and was told that because I was reaching peak fuel pressures at or in excess of 100psi, they would NOT replace the diaphragm. It quickly found it's way to the garbage can.
