finished the d15b7 setup, lovin it
i finished up my d15b7 turbo setup over my xmas break, i freakin love it, pulls nice, i know its nothing crazy but a great learning project and made my car more fun on the street.
One kinda technical question tho, im runnin uberdata and im running a nice conservative basemap for now, i know i know i need a wideband tune but i jsut cant afford one, im only boosting 5-6 psi, (my autometer reads 8 but it also read 1.5 when its off, p.o.s.) and im running quite rich, w/ some smoke at idle and start up, and an occational bog in first gear, my question is it safe to pull a little fuel? and if i dont then will the black deposit from runnin rich that collects in the exhast get on my turbine wheels and end up damaging them? and info would be great and i heart boost!!

save up some money and get a wideband. I know its expensive, but its well worth it. Have you had anybody check out your basemap yet?

yea thats definatly next on my list but it may be a lil while before i can get one, for now tho, like i asked will the deposits from it running rich gather on my turbo's fins and cause any damage? and also i have a cel for my map sensor that i cant seem to get rid off, any ideas on that either?

Re: (blackcivic95)
what about my map sensor code, cant seem to get rid of that, and i have the map sensor settings in uberdata set to stock. Also my car backfires everynow and then, more so when im kinda cursin in the lower rpm's, what exactly causes a backfire and what can i do to fix this as well?

sweet man!!
once you get the bugs worked up crank it up!
what injectors are you running?
I say crank it up to 8 or 9,
I mean seriously, the d15b7 block shouldn't be any weaker than any other d block.. its just that the head doesn't flow like a z6 head does, which is the big reason it's so much weaker imo.
So now that you're boosted.. prettymuch I think you could put down 180whp RELIABLY with that motor.
I for one would LLOOOVE to see it too!

Re: (Tad)
I thought the b7 head flowed better than most d-series head?? and the weakness in in the rods, really thin, in time i probobally will turn it up to about 7-8 but i need a better tune first
