Default DW400 Fuel Pump

Anybody have one installed in a Civic eg (92-95)?

Did you use a civic specific install kit, or did it only come with a universal kit?

For filter sock, did you use OEM style (I read you should use OEM style to ensure no issues like sucking in air).

Also planning on installing a larger gauge fuel pump wiring kit, any recommendations?

Anything else I should know?

@turboLScrx does use / used to use a DW400 pump in his EG. I use a Walbro 450. Do not use the sock that comes with them - re-use your OEM sock or buy a new OEM-style. You will start sucking air about half tank if you use the one that comes with the pumps, as they sit vertical, where OEM sits flat on the bottom of the tank.

Again, I can only speak for my experience with Walbro, but it installed with the universal kit just fine.

Yes, you will need larger gauge wiring to get the most from the pump. If you want a clean install, just buy the pre-made fuel pump wiring harness from somewhere like Burton Racing or PFI Speed. I have the Burton harness and am happy with how it installed.

DW400 is a great pump! You will need to modify the hanger a little, but that’s common when adding a aftermarket pump. Just remember that a quality 30 amp relay needs to be installed . These pumps are good for around 700 on E85. I just purchased the raw pump and used the sock that it come with
