Default Crazy Oil Pressure Readings == Bad Sender??

Ok im fed up with this. I dont know if my oil pressure is actually crazy, or my sender is bad, but here are my symptoms. First off lemme say its a "Megan Racing" Oil pressure gauge (electrical), nuff said.

I have the sender running off the sandwich for my oil relocation kit.

Here is what im seeing, most days/times i see 35psi idle, 83psi driving. THe past few days its been whacky. Car still drives fine, no discernable major leaks, but at 4k+ when it should be pegged at 83psi it gets to 83psi and then kinds shimmies around down to 80psi then up to 90psi and as high *** 100+psi (gauge ends at 100psi) then it will work its way back down to 83psi-ish and be fine for a while then it will do the whole routine over again.

The needle movements are weird like a bad electrical signal or something, they arent smooth they are very jagged and wandering almost, and pressure will show as rising past 83psi even with no additional throttle or rpms (ie: going 80mph 5th gear 4krpms oil psi at 83 and then it will just wander around up to 90, 100, 83, 80, 87, back to 83) Oh and if i push in the clutch while its wandering it sails right back down to 35psi and stays there, solid.

Im almost positive its the gauge now as ive changed the filter multiple times with the same results, no oil leaks except very very slight oil on the turbo oil feed, not even like 2 drops worth, and all the wires and grounds for the gauge are good...

WTF would cause this? Bad Sender? Binding Oil Restictor (in pump)?

Default Re: (turbotime)

it sounds like a bad connection, most likely check the ground on the sender unit. Personally IMO I only use Mechanical Oil gages.

good luck
